Summary
The Purpose Links Maintenance screen is used to build and maintain the purpose link tables which are used by Tax Title and Abatement/Exemption Certificate processing.
Step by Step
1 Open the Purpose Links window (TC> Maintenance> Purpose Links).
- The Purpose Links window displays all of the purpose links that have been set up in the database.
- Select a Purpose Link and click DELETE to delete the selected Purpose Link.
- Select a Purpose Link and click EDIT to edit the selected Purpose Link. This will open the Purpose Link Maintenance screen.
- Click the Create Purpose Link button to create a new Purpose Link.
2 Create a Purpose Link.
- Enter the Sequence for the purpose link table or click the field search button to select a sequence from a list. Sequences are created and maintained on the Sequence Maintenance screen.
- The Year and Title fields will automatically populate based on the selected Sequence.
- The data grid below will also populate with the Purpose, Extension Code, and Description based on the selected Sequence.
- Click the data grid row to open the Edit Detail section to the right.
- The Preliminary Purpose and Preliminary Extension fields are used to enter or select a preliminary purpose and extension code to link to this purpose.
- Click the Preliminary Extension field search button to select a Preliminary Extension from a list Purpose Codes. This will automatically populate the Preliminary Purpose and Preliminary Description fields.
- These fields can be left blank if there is no preliminary purpose.
- Click the Save button to save the new Purpose Link table.
