Summary
The Group Type Code Add Wizard is used to quickly add a type code to a group of employees. Type codes are added to type tabs on the Employee Maintenance window to record HR specific details about the employee.
Step by Step
1 Open the Group Type Code Add Wizard (HR> Utilities> Group Type Code Add).
- The first step in the wizard is selecting which Types and Type Codes will be added to the employees.
- Enter a Type or click the field label to select one from a list.
- Types are created and maintained on the Type Maintenance window (HR> Maintenance> Type).
- Enter a Type Code or click the field label to select one from a list.
- Only type codes that are associated with the type selected above can be entered in this field.
- Type codes are created and maintained on the Type Code Maintenance window (HR> Maintenance> Type Code).
- Click the Next button to continue.
2 Select the employees that will be updated with the type and type code.
- The next step in the wizard is to select the employees you would like to include.
- Click the Add button to add an employee to window. This will open the Employee Selection window.
- Enter any desired employee details in the Search Criteria section and click the Refresh icon to filter the displayed employees.
- Highlight each employee you would like to include and press the Confirm icon. This will return the selected employees to the wizard.
- Press CTRL or SHIFT while selecting employees to update multiple employees with the new type code.
- Click the Next button to continue.
3 Enter the type code details.
- The final step in the wizard is to specify the type code details that will be added to the selected employee records.
- The type code fields that are available for editing are determined on the Type Maintenance window.
- Click the Finish button to compete the Wizard. All the selected employees will now be updated with the new type code information.
