HR Web Quotes

Summary

The Web Quotes Maintenance window is used to create and maintain the web quotes that are displayed on the home pages of the Springbrook Online Applications.

Step by Step

1     Open the Web Quotes Maintenance window.

  • The Web Quotes Maintenance window (HR> Maintenance> Web Quotes) will display all of the web quotes created in the application.
  • Highlight a web quote and click the Delete icon to delete the selected web quote.
  • When you highlight a web quote in the left section of the window the quote details will display in the Maintenance section on the right side of the window.
  • Click the Create icon to create a new web quote. This will create a new quote line item and enable the fields in the Maintenance section to the right.

2     Create a new Web Quote.

  • Enter a unique web quote Code. This is the descriptive name of the quote and will not appear on the Employee Self Service site.
    • The web quote code can be up to 10 alphanumeric characters long. Once the code has been saved it cannot be edited.
  • The Department field is used to associate the quote with a specific department.
    • If a quote is associated with a specific department, it will only be displayed for those users that are associated with that department.
    • Departments are created and maintained on the Department Maintenance window (SS> Maintenance> Department).
  • The Begin Date and End Date fields are used to set up a time limit on when the quote is displayed.
    • When the begin date is reached the quote will be automatically added to the online application home page. When the end date is reached the quote will be automatically removed from the home page of the online application.
    • The Begin Date will default to the current date.
  • The Order field is used to determine the order in which the quotes will display.
    • The lower numbered quote will always appear above the higher numbered quote.
    • The order must be between -999 and 999.
  • The Title field is disabled and not applicable to web quotes.
  • The Content field is used to enter the body of the web quote.
    • Because these web quotes are designed to be used with a wide variety of browsers, any user-defined display customization must be accomplished using HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language) tags.
    • These tags are most often used in pairs. Only the words, phrases or paragraphs that fall between the opening tag and the closing tag will be affected. For example, in the following sentence, the words "username" and "password" would appear in bold text in the web quote.
    • Here are a few of the most commonly used HTML tags:
  • For a more comprehensive list of HTML tags, please refer to one of the many free, online HTML tutorials such as W3Schools.com. Here you can learn how to insert tags used to change font styles, create web site links and insert pictures.
  • This field is limited to 2048 characters. This includes any HTML formatting.
  • Click the Save icon to save the completed web quote.
