The CivicPay Online Settings pages are used to set up how your citizens will interact with your CPO site.
Custom Messages Page
- The Custom Messages page is used to create and edit the messages that are presented to your citizens as they interact with your CPO site. These messages are available in the following pages/situations:
- Login Page Message - This message is shown to users before they log in.
- Citizen Home Page Message - This message is shown to users after they log in.
- Auto Pay Message - This message is shown when members would like information about auto pay.
- Payment Screen Message - This message is shown to users when they make payments. Information such as check return policies, and other policies is recommended.
- Municipal Payment Screen Message - This message is shown to users on the Fee Selection and Payment pages when they access the Municipal Payments Collections portal. Springbrook recommends agencies use this custom message to direct their citizens to include important permit or license number details in the Memo field when paying fees.
- Accounts Receivable - This message is shown to users when they make selections and payments in the Invoice Payments Quick Pay portal.
- Building Permits - This message is shown to users when they make selections and payments in the Building Permits Quick Pay portal.

- Special Assessments - This message is shown to users when they make selections and payments in the Special Assessments Quick Pay portal.
- Parcel ID Message - This message is shown to users when they search for Property Tax bills. Information such as the Parcel ID entry format is recommended.
- Out of Service Message - This message is shown to users when the website is offline for maintenance windows.
WYSIWYG Editor
- The CPO site uses a modern WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editor, so you may notice a difference in the customization features when compared to the legacy CPO site.
- Any messages created in the legacy CPO site will automatically populate in the new message editor windows. The original message formatting will also populate, so the appearance of your CPO messages will not change.
- You can use Microsoft Word to format your custom messages. By writing and formatting your message in Word, then copying and pasting that formatted message into the message editor, you can take advantage of additional formatting options such as font family and font size.
Creating and Editing Custom Messages
- When working in the WYSIWYG editor, use the formatting tools to control how the custom message will be displayed.
- The bold, italic, underline, and strikethrough options control the style of the selected message text.
- The Text Color button sets the selected text to black, blue, green, or red.
- The Clear Formatting button resets the formatting for the selected text.
- The Left, Center, and Right Justified buttons set the justification for the selected text.
- The Unordered List and Ordered List buttons format the selected test into bulleted or numbered lists.
- The Format drop-down sets the standard format of the selected text. The standard formats are Heading 1, Heading 2, Paragraph, and Normal.
- The Create and Remove Link buttons are used to add or remove an HTML hyperlink to the selected text. When the Create Link button is clicked, a pop up window will prompt you to enter or paste the URL for the linked website.
- The Insert Image button inserts an image link into the message. As with the Create Link button, clicking the Insert Image button prompts you to enter or paste the link to the desired image. Once the link is specified, the image will display in the message.
- Click the Save button to save the updated messages.
