Summary 

The Update Account Overrides tool is used to mass update the override values for Control Accounts on a filtered set of GL accounts. This utility will only be enabled if the Use Control Accounting toggle is checked on the General tab of the GL Setup screen.

Step by Step

1     Open the Update Account Overrides window (GL> Utilities> Update Account Overrides).

2     Specify the updated account overrides. 

• The Fiscal Year field will default to the current fiscal year but can be updated.
• The Revenue Control Account Override, Revenue Control Subsidiary Account Override, Expense Control Account Override, and Expense Control Subsidiary Account Override fields are used to select the GL accounts that will replace the currently-selected account overrides set up on the Chart of Accounts Maintenance screen. Enter full or partial accounts in these fields to set up control accounting.
•  Enter a partial account or click the field search button   to select an account for each field that you wish to update.
  • The Revenue Control Account and Expense Control Account must be fund balance accounts.
  • The Revenue Control Subsidiary Account must be a revenue account.
  • The Expense Control Subsidiary Account must be an expense account.

3     Select the accounts to update.

• Use the search criteria and click the Search button to filter the GL accounts displayed in the data grid below.
• Check the toggle next to each account you would like to update and click the Select button. The selected accounts will now display in the Selected GL Accounts data grid to the right.
  • Any accounts that already include a control account will display a validation message and the GL account in the relevant column.
  • You can run multiple account searches without impacting the previously-selected accounts.
• Once all the desired accounts have been added to the Selected GL Accounts data grid, check the toggle next to each account or check the toggle in the header to select all the accounts. This will enabled to Update button above.
• Click the Update button to update all the selected accounts with the control accounts selected above.
