BP Permit Status Maintenance

Updated on

Summary

The Permit Status Maintenance window is used to create and maintain permit statuses. A permit status is a user-defined code used to describe the current state of an application or permit based on the completion of the required inspections. For example, a permit that has successfully passed each of its inspection type steps could be listed as Active while a permit that failed an electrical inspection could be listed as Reinspect.

Step by Step

1     View the existing Permit Status.

  • Open the Permit Status Maintenance window (BP> Maintenance> Permit Status).
  • The Permit Status Maintenance window will display all the permit statuses created in the application.
  • Highlight a permit status and click the Delete icon or press DELETE to delete the selected permit status.
    • You cannot delete a permit status that an existing permit is in.
  • Click the Create icon or press INSERT to create a new permit status. This will create a new line item in the data grid to the left and enable the fields to the right.

2     Create a new Permit Status.

  • Enter a permit status code in the Code field. This is a unique code used to identify a specific permit status. Once a permit status is saved, this code cannot be edited.
    • Permit statuses can be associated with Inspection Types in order to automatically update the status of a permit when an inspection type step is approved, fails, or is flagged for reinspection.
      • Inspection types are created and maintained on the Inspection Type Maintenance window (BP> Maintenance> Inspection Type).
    • The status code can be up to 20 alphanumeric characters long.
  • Enter a permit status description in the Description field.
    • The description field can be up to 60 characters long.
  • Click the Save icon or press ENTER to save the new permit status.
