BP Permit Class Maintenance

Updated on

Summary

Permit Classes can be used to further classify permits and are associated with permit types. For example, your permit types could be organized into residential, commercial, or industrial Permit Classes. They are primarily informational and are often used for reporting purposes.

Step by Step

1     View the existing Permit Classes.

  • Open the Permit Class Maintenance window (BP> Maintenance> Permit Classes).
  • The Permit Class Maintenance window will display all the permit classes created in the application.
  • Highlight a permit class and click the Delete icon   or press DELETE to delete the selected permit class.
  • Click the Create icon or press INSERT to create a new permit class. This will create a new line item in the data grid to the left and enable the fields to the right.

2     Create a new Permit Class.

  • Enter a permit class code in the Class field. The class field is a unique code used to identify a specific permit class. Once a permit class is saved, the class code cannot be edited.
    • The class code can be up to 20 alphanumeric characters long.
  • Enter a permit class description in the Description field.
    • The description field can be up to 60 characters long.
  • Click the Save icon or press ENTER to save the new permit class.
  • Once the permit class is complete it can be selected from the Permit Type Maintenance window (BP> Maintenance> Permit Type).
