SS Copy Units

Updated on

Summary

The Copy Units tool is used to copy existing unit records set up in one module to another module. Units are created and maintained in the Fixed Assets, Inventory Control, System Wide Access, and Work Orders modules.

Step by Step

1     Open the Copy Units window (SS> Utilities> Copy Units).

2     Specify the copy settings.

  • The Source System drop-down menu is used to specify where the units will be copied from.
  • The Target System drop-down menu is used to specify where the units will be copied to.
  • You must select different modules in the Source and Target fields to successfully copy the units.
  • Press ENTER or click the Confirm icon to copy the units immediately or enter a date and time in the field next to the Confirm icon to schedule the copy to process at a later time. You can view the progress of the copy job on the Job Viewer window (SS> Utilities> Show Scheduled Jobs).
  • Copied units from the source system will not overwrite existing units in the target system. If a copied unit in the target system already exists, an exception will appear in the Jobs Viewer. Open the exception message to see which units were not copied because they already exist in the target system.
